Rocky Mountain Con 2014 - Poison Ivy Sketch Card

Rocky Mountain Con 2014 -- Poison Ivy from The Batman cartoon.

Really like her elaborate, rose-inspired hairstyle.

5"x7" Sketch card. Prismacolor markers, color pencils, and inks.

Two-Face

Here's my piece for Batman.  Initially, I'd wanted to go with Commissioner Gordon, but I had recently seen the two-part Two-Face origin episode from Batman: The Animated Series and just had to go with this.  I'm thinking of enlarging this and transferring to a large canvas for a traditional oil painting (but that probably will never happen--haha).

DSC - Superman Blue

Superman Blue for the DSC. I went with the blue pencils--makes sense. Also, this sketch has a huge Ed McGuinness influence to it. I wanted an action shot, but I was strapped for time so this stoic pose has to do.

//DSC - Shazam!

Daily Sketch Challenge of DC Comics new design for Shazam!  Apparently they're no longer calling him Captain Marvel and he's less super hero and more magical.

// Sasquatch

My pencils for a Sasquatch art jam from about 2 weeks ago.  Pathetic composition on my part and the poor urban legend is armless...bummer...

// ComicFest - Friday Night Green Lantern Sketch

Here's a sketch of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner that I did tonight on Day 1 of Denver's ComicFest 2011.  Immediately after finishing this one, I was commissioned to draw up Kid Flash from Young Justice and unfortunately I didn't get a chance to snap a picture of that commission.

JLA July 22 - The Wonder Twins (Zan & Jayna)

Ah, yes...what I excel at to the utmost...talking heads...

And if you don't know what a Thangarian Snare Beast is...go ask Kevin Smith some evening...

JLA July 21 - Metamorpho

Great character, but this drawing has a "force" perspective that just really doesn't work.  Flats look good though...

JLA July 20 - Animal Man

The proportions on this are all terrible.  This guy deserves better representation, ha!

I think that his super powers are highly underrated--who wouldn't want to utilize the abilities of and talk to animals?

JLA July 19 - Martian Manhunter

So we were without internet for a couple of days hence why this is a bit late.  It's actually drawn on "Martian Green" paper...

JLA July 13 - The Atom

The arrows are actually color designations for whenever I get around to coloring this.

Is being able to shrink a solid superpower? I'm sure there's a debate out there about this...

JLA July 12 - Black Lightning

This guy served as Secretary of Education under Lex Luthor during the President Luthor storyline.
